The NWZ Hockey Association is a member of Hockey Edmonton and has been providing organized hockey since 1972. The NWZ Hockey Association is open to all boys and girls, 13 through 17 years of age. You will find our program fun, yet competitive, with our main goal being the development of skating and hockey skills.
The NWZ Hockey Association area is not restricted by inter-city boundaries. Any player resident in the City of Edmonton may join our program.
***IMPORTANT NOTE FOR U15 AND U18 PLAYERS wanting to try out for CAC's U15 AND U18 Elite Programs (AA/AAA) or KC's U15 AND U18 Elite Programs (AA/AAA). You DO NOT register with the NWZ Hockey Association (NWZHA) at this time. You must register with the Canadian Athletic Club (CAC) or the Knights of Columbus (KC) for their tryouts and if your player does not make a team with either CAC or KC, then you register online with the NWZ. Hockey Canada has implemented a new online registration system. The provider of this new online system is a company named SPORDLE. The links, accounts and passwords previously used for online registration WILL NOT WORK with the new system.
The new registration system requires a MY SPORDLE ACCOUNT which the parent creates and then adds all members of the household to his account - including coaches - to register for hockey. Please call the office - Lorraine at (780) 721-1477 - if you need assistance setting up your new registration account.
Online Registration - NWZ HOCKEY ASSOCIATION ONLINE REGISTRATION LINK - follow the link and then log in to your MY SPORDLE ACCOUNT to access the NWZ Hockey Association registration options.
Payment by CREDIT CARD (Visa or MasterCard)
If payment by CREDIT CARD is chosen, you may choose two payment options:
1. Payment in Full, or
2. Payment of 50% Immediately and the 50% balance payable on September 1st, 2021.
Fill out your credit card details on the PAYSAFE site, then click the "SUBMIT" button. Wait for your credit card to be processed. DO NOT CLICK ANY BUTTONS UNTIL YOU SEE YOUR RESPONSE (this may take a few seconds). If your transaction is DECLINED, you may enter the information for another credit card or choose another form of payment. IF APPROVED, you will receive a printable receipt in the next step and you are now done. PLEASE NOTE: If you choose to pay in 2 payments, the system will automatically charge your credit card for the 2nd payment. You do not have to go back into the system on September 1st and enter your credit card information again. If the credit card option is used, the following will be displayed on your credit card statement: NORTH WEST ZONE HOCKEY ASSOCIATION.
Payment by CHEQUE
If payment by CHEQUE is chosen, you will be directed to a "Your Registration was Successful" screen. Please note that if paying by Cheque we will accept a maximum of TWO (2) Cheques ONLY. You can pay the FULL amount at the time of registration using one cheque OR you can write TWO cheques: the first cheque for 50% of the total fee at the time of registration and the second cheque for the remaining 50% postdated on or before September 1st. Mail your cheque(s) to the NWZ Hockey Association at 12808-134A Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB T5L 3W6. Your cheque(s) must be received within 10 business days of completing the online registration. If your cheque(s) haven't been received within 10 business days, your online registration will be cancelled by the Registrar.
Payment by E-TRANSFER

Payment by CASH
If payment by CASH is chosen, you will be directed to a "Your Registration was Successful" screen. You must contact the Registrar, Lorraine Toth, at admin@nwzhockey.ca or at (780) 721-1477 to make arrangements to pay with cash. If you haven't contacted Lorraine within 5 business days to make arrangements, your registration will be cancelled by the Registrar.
Payment by PERSONAL PAYMENT PLAN CONTRACT
If payment of registration fees cannot be made before the deadline of September 1st, you can enter into a Personal Payment Plan Contract with the NWZ Hockey Association. You must contact the Registrar, Lorraine Toth, at admin@nwzhockey.ca or at (780) 721-1477 to make arrangements. A payment schedule will be drawn up according to your needs and the Personal Payment Plan Contract will be signed by yourself and the NWZ Hockey Association. The payment schedule will necessitate payment of registration fees in full by December 31st, 2021.

***PLEASE NOTE: Players registering with the NWZ Hockey Association who have played the season previously with the HAWKS ATHLETIC CLUB or WHITEMUD WEST HOCKEY ASSOCIATION are NOT CONSIDERED NEW PLAYERS. The NWZ Hockey Association is the parent association of the Hawks Athletic Club and Whitemud West Hockey Association and player profiles are automatically forwarded to the NWZ.
