NORTH WEST ZONE HOCKEY ASSOCIATION

REGISTRATION IS OPEN FOR THE 2022-2023 SEASON!

 

TO REGISTER FOR OUR SEPTEMBER CONDITIONING CAMPS YOU MUST ALSO DO THE PLAYER REGISTRATION AT THE SAME TIME.

 

The NWZ Hockey Association is a member of Hockey Edmonton and has been providing organized hockey since 1972.  The NWZ Hockey Association is open to all boys and girls, 13 through 17 years of age.  You will find our program fun, yet competitive, with our main goal being the development of skating and hockey skills.

 

The NWZ Hockey Association area is not restricted by inter-city boundaries.  Any player resident in the City of Edmonton may join our program.

 

Online Registration is available:  July 1, 2022.

 

***IMPORTANT NOTE FOR U15 AND U18 PLAYERS wanting to try out for CAC's Elite Programs (AA/AAA) or KC's Elite Programs (AA/AAA).  You DO NOT register with the NWZ Hockey Association (NWZHA) at this time.   You must register with the Canadian Athletic Club (CAC) or the Knights of Columbus (KC) for their tryouts and if your player does not make a team with either CAC or KC, then you register online with the NWZ.  CAC's contact information is: Betty Chmilar at (780) 499-4148 or cachockeyregistrar@gmail.com.  KC's contact information is: Gen Osmond at (780) 457-4527 or office@kchockey.ca.

 

We are using HCR 3.0/My Spordle Account (same as last season) which the parent creates and then adds all members of the household to this account - including coaches - to register for hockey.

 

TRANSFERRING PLAYERS - you will not be able to register online until we have requested a transfer from your old club.  In order to obtain the transfer you must complete the online Parent Declaration form.  Enter admin@nwzhockey.ca in the MINOR HOCKEY ASSOCIATION SUBMISSION box.  Attach Proof of Residency (a current utility bill - first page only showing name and address) from EPCOR, Direct Energy, or ENMAX.  Upload your utility bill in Proof of Residency Document 1, Document 2, or All Documents (this is found at the very end of the Parent Declaration form).

 

RETURNING PLAYERS - Register with HCR 3.0/My Spordle Account (same as last season) in which the parent creates and then adds all members of the household to this account - including coaches - to register for hockey.  ***IF YOUR PLAYER PLAYED WITH US LAST YEAR, USE YOUR EXISTING MY SPORDLE ACCOUNT LOGIN.***  You will search for your player using name and birthdate.

 

A completed registration for RETURNING PLAYERS includes:

 

  • If you have moved - You must complete the online Parent Declaration Form and upload Proof of Residency.  In the body of the form, please enter admin@nwzhockey.ca in the MINOR HOCKEY ASSOCIATION SUBMISSION box.  Attach your Proof of Residency (a current utility bill - first page only showing name and address) from EPCOR, Direct Energy, or ENMAX.  Upload your utility bill in Proof of Residency Document 1, Document 2, or All Documents (this is found at the very end of the Parent Declaration form).
  • Valid Respect in Sport Parent Online Course (RIS) (valid for 4 years).  If you have to redo your RIS Parent as it has expired, remember to select NW ZONE as the association.  This is very important!
  •  Payment:
    • Online with Visa or MasterCard.
    • We will also accept e-transfers providing the e-transfer is sent concurrent with the registration.  If the e-transfer is not sent within 24 hours of the registration, your registration will be cancelled.  Your e-transfer can by sent to admin@nwzhockey.ca .
    • The e-transfer must be for the full amount OR for 50% at the time of registration and the final 50% BEFORE September 1st.  You MUST put your player's FULL NAME in the memo field so that the e-transfer can be applied to your registration.  Please note:  The NWZ is providing members with the courtesy of using Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).  Please provide the funds in the timelines indicated (full amount or 50% now and 50% before September 1st).  The NWZ will not accept random payments of varying dollar amounts on dates of your choosing.  In other words, EFT is not to be viewed as a personal payment plan.
    • If you require alternate payment arrangements, please contact the Registrar, Lorraine Toth, by email at admin@nwzhockey.ca to discuss.
    • Money Orders will be accepted.
    • Personal cheques will no longer be accepted.

 

A completed registration for NEW PLAYERS includes:

 

  • You must complete the online Parent Declaration Form and provide the following documents:
    • Copy of BIRTH CERTIFICATE or PASSPORT.  Please upload this document at the end of the Parent Declaration form under "Proof of Residency DOCUMENT 2" OR "Proof of Residency ALL DOCUMENTS".
    • Copy of Alberta Health Care Card.  Please upload this document at the end of the Parent Declaration form under "Proof of Residency DOCUMENT 2" OR "Proof of Residency ALL DOCUMENTS".
    • Copy of a current utility bill - first page only showing name and address.  We will only accept EPCOR, Direct Energy or ENMAX.  Upload this document at the end of the Parent Declaration form under "Proof of Residency DOCUMENT 1, DOCUMENT 2, or ALL DOCUMENTS.
  • In the body of the Parent Declaration form, please enter admin@nwzhockey.ca in the MINOR HOCKEY ASSOCIATION SUBMISSION box.  You MUST do this so that the Parent Declaration with supporting documentation is received by the Hawks' Registrar.
  • You must have a valid Respect in Sport Parent Online Course (RIS) completed.  Note that only ONE parent is required to complete the course.  Where the course asks you to select an association please select NW ZONE.  This is VERY IMPORTANT.  Also note that your RIS Parent is valid for 4 years after which the course must be redone.  If you have to redo your RIS Parent as it has expired, again, remember to select NW ZONE as the association.
  • Payment:
